This recipe depends a lot on the coloring you use, if your coloring is salty use it as is, if not, make sure to add a teaspoon of salt. In a large bowl, sift together 21/2 cups flour, 11/2 cups sugar, 1 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 cup cocoa powder. In another bowl, whisk together the 1 1/2 cup butter , 1cup buttermilk, 2 eggs, 1tbs food coloring, 1tbs vinegar, and 2tbs vanilla. mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined and a smooth batter is formed. Divide the cake batter evenly among the prepared cake pans. Bake at 175 degrees C for 30-45 min. Cream cheese frosting works best for this cake.
